How long does it take you to paint a face?

The amount of detail in the design determines how long a face painting will take. We can work with you to come up with a set of designs that suits your needs. Airbrush face painting can save some time allowing a few more people per hour.

• Small and standard designs with little detail can take about 1 to 3 minutes (ones that we bring to most events).

• More complex designs or a design with more detail can take 4 to 6 mins (designs we bring to special events).

 

How long does it take you set up?

For face painting, it can take less than 5 minutes to set up. 

 

What designs can you paint?

There is a design menu with about 44 popular face painting designs: from (princesses, super heroes, various animals, symbols, butterflies, flowers, and other characters) as well as custom requests depending on the party. There are designs appropriate for various ages. Designs get updated periodically for the season, etc. If you require a specific theme, we can accommodate that with sufficient notice. We paint full face, half face (half masks), and cheek/body art. Contact me for more information. We also consult with you regarding any body painting or special airbrush tattoos designs. 

 

Do you use professional face paints?

Yes, we only use professional make up. We do not use acrylics. We predominantly use Paradise face paint from Mehron (made in the USA) and have some colors from the Diamond FX, Wolf FX, and FABA brand. These face paints are cosmetic grade and are manufactured in compliance with FDA regulations with FDA approved ingredients. We have been asked if our supplies have soy. They do not have soy.

 

Can the face paint come off easily?

The face paint does not easily smudge, unless the design becomes wet. The paints we use can withstand some sweat without dripping or coming off. For more hot and humid days, we have airbrush tattoos (water-based and water resistant, but comes off with liquid soap and water) options available. These face paints can all be removed with soap and water. We can provide make up remover wipes for small parties for an extra charge, although they are not necessary.

 

What is the best method for removing face paint?

• Apply mild soap or baby shampoo to paint and lather gently with fingers in circular motion to loosen paint.

• Rinse off or wipe off with a damp, warm (dark colored) wash cloth. Do not scrub.

• Repeat if necessary after a few minutes if color remains or gently rub baby oil or moisturizer with cotton wool.

• Please DO NOT sleep in face paint. If you must, use a towel on the pillow..

What else do you do?

We often get asked what else we do. We have many event services and party entertainment:

• airbrush temporary tattoos

• balloon twisting

• Party packages (princess party, super hero party, pirate party, theme parties)

• theme related party crafts

• prenatal belly painting

• body painting

• access to our event entertainment vendor network (clowns, moon bounces, decor, etc.)

 

Is it just you?

Usually only one artist is needed even with multiple services. We have a network of artists and entertainers that we work with in case more artists are needed for really large events. Make sure to book far enough in advance to ensure more than one artist is available if needed.

How far in advance do I need to book?

We book fairly quickly so as soon as you know you would like to have Jazzadore help make your event a memorable success make sure to secure your date and time. Having said that, we welcome you to book last minute if we have the availability.

 

How much space do you need?

We bring a small table (4 feet long) and a tall makeup chair (roughly 25" x 25"). I also need room to stand in front and a bit on the side of the table and chair.
